CAMP SCHEDULE AND FACILITY
Camp will be held each day, Monday-Friday,
at the YMCA facility. Several trips will be taken throughout
each week, however, camp will always meet at the Y in the
mornings. Each parent or legal guardian can pick up a weekly
camp newsletter at the service desk each Monday.
Kids will be using the air conditioned rec
center as base; youth gym, multi-purpose rooms; outdoor fields
and indoor Y pool, with staff and Y lifeguard on duty.
*Pre-Camp Care is from 7:30-9:00 am; Post
Camp Care is from 4:00 - 5:30 pm
*A bus & driver from the school dept. will
be used for transporting kids during trips.
*In case of rain on trip days, the YMCA
camp staff will have alternative activities planned.
CAMP POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
The camp has policies&procedures that are
followed. Upon registration, each parent or guardian needs to
ask for a copy of our policies&procedures. Actual activities are
held between 9am - 4pm.
*Each child must have a completed
registration form and an updated immunization record on file. No
child will be allowed to participate in camp activities without
these forms filled out.
*An adult must sign each child in&out each
day of camp. The sign-in and sign-out book will be placed at the
service desk. Parents will be given a Y letter to show to
counselors to release child.
*Children must arrive no earlier than 7:30
am and be picked up no later than 5:30pm. Parents may lose camp
space for their child if late on a regular basis. Please call
ahead if know.
SUMMER DAY CAMP STAFF
*Waide Williams will be our new Camp
Director. He is 26 and has worked as a teacher in the
Henderson County School system since 2008.
He has also been Asst. Baseball coach at Henderson
County High School since 2008. Waide has
his Bachelors and Masters Degree in Education.
*Annette Delaney will be returning as a Sr.
Counselor for a 6th year and is a Sr. at USI.
*Jessi Booze will be returning for a 5th
year as a Sr. Counselor and attends HCC.
*Ryne Pinkston returns as a Sr. Counselor
for his 3rd year and attends USI.
*JoAnn Lansden will be a Sr. Counselor and
has managed the high school bookstore since 2007.
HOW TO REGISTER
Camp staff are not qualified to care for
kids enrolled in any school special ed or needs class/program.
Parent/guardian MUST pre-register children
before Monday of each session. All registrations must be done by
a parent or legal guardian at the YMCA. Parents must fill out
the camp registration form and provide an updated immunization
record at time of registration. The first session must be paid
for in full at time of registration. Parents wanting to secure a
space in more than one session, may do so by paying a 50%
deposit toward each session. Each session balance must be paid
at least by Friday prior to the next session starting date, or
the space may be given to another child, if there is a waiting
list.
*Children MUST be at least 6 years old by
start of camp and not turn 13 during any session.
* Only full week registrations allowed. No
refunds/credits for missed days/trips.
* All trip fees are included in the
registration fee and can not be credited or pro-rated if child
doesn’t go on trips or the Y has to cancel for ANY reason. No
extra fee for Pre&Post camp care
* Parents that owe a balance for any week
can not sign their child up for further weeks until the balance
or fees have been paid in full. Reminders will be put in the
sign-in/out book.
FINANCIAL AID & REFUND POLICY
Parents may apply for Y aid by filling out
an application and supplying the necessary proof of income and
expenses. Aid is limited per session with a minimum fee.
Priority will be given to families with both parents working or
one parent working if from a single parent family. It takes up
to 1 week for applications to be processed. Camp registration
can not be taken until the financial aid application and all
required documentation has been received and approved.
***NO REFUND GIVEN IF CHILD HAS TO BE
REMOVED FROM CAMP FOR ANY REASON
Pro-Rated Refunds given if child has a
doctors note or if family is moving out of Henderson County.
Parents can receive a pro-rated refund for
any session IF A WRITTEN NOTICE IS GIVEN AT LEAST 5 DAYS PRIOR
TO THE START DATE OF THE NEXT SESSION SIGNED UP FOR. A $15 per
session administrative fee will be deducted from any refund.
Transfers from one session to another may be done only if space
is available.
WHAT TO BRING EACH DAY
Each day every child must bring a sack
lunch (there is only a microwave available to warm food up)
Parents will be called at home or work if child does not have a
lunch. There are several snack and drink machines at the Y. Kids
should not bring more than $3/day. Children also need to wear
play clothes each day and comfortable shoes. On days the camp
will be swimming, children need to bring a swimsuit AND a towel.
Sunscreen also needs to be packed each day, as the kids will be
outside most days. It is the child’s responsibility to put
sunscreen on. Staff will supervise. Parents should mark child’s
name on all personal items. The YMCA is not responsible for
lost, stolen or misplaced items. CHILDREN SHOULD NOT BRING TOYS,
CELL PHONES, JEWELRY, GAME BOYS, I-PODS, ETC… TO CAMP. Y will
not be responsible for stolen or broken items.
*By law, the YMCA MUST report all
possible child abuse signs to the Social Services-826-6203 or to
the police-831-1295. This will be done after talking to the
child, but NOT the parent. |
